What If I Need to Cancel My Move? – FAQ from iBox Moving

What If I Cancel answered by iBox Moving experts

What If I Need to Cancel My Move?

We understand that plans can change. At iBox Moving, we offer a flexible cancellation policy to give you peace of mind — whether something unexpected comes up or your schedule shifts.

How Do I Cancel a Scheduled Move?

Just call us or email us as soon as you know you need to cancel. The earlier, the better — but we’ll do our best to work with you at any stage.

Is There a Cancellation Fee?

  • More Than 48 Hours Notice: No fee. You’ll receive a full refund of any deposit, if applicable.
  • Less Than 48 Hours Notice: A small cancellation fee may apply to cover reserved crew and truck time.
  • Same-Day Cancellation: A higher fee may apply, especially during peak days. We’ll always explain it clearly.

Can I Reschedule Instead?

Yes! We’d rather reschedule than cancel. If your new date is available, we’ll move your booking without any penalties. Just let us know what works best for you.

How Do I Get a Refund?

If you’ve paid a deposit and cancel in time, we’ll process a refund to your original payment method. This usually happens within 1–3 business days.

Still Not Sure?

We’re here to help. If you’re on the fence or need flexibility, talk to us — we’ll guide you based on your situation and make the process easy.

Moving Tips & Guides

What Not To Pack explained in our moving guide

What Not to Pack When Moving – Items You Should Never Load on the Truck

Some Things Are Better Left Out of the Truck

While most household items are safe to move, there are a few that should never go into the moving truck — for legal, safety, or practical reasons. Here’s what iBox Moving recommends keeping out of your moving boxes.

1. Flammable and Hazardous Materials

Gasoline, propane, paint thinners, matches, fire extinguishers, cleaning solvents, and similar items are not allowed. These materials pose a serious fire and safety risk during transport.

2. Perishable Food

Food that can spoil — dairy, meats, frozen or refrigerated items — should be consumed or donated before the move. These items can leak, attract pests, or spoil in transit.

3. Plants

Some states restrict plant transport across borders. In local moves, plants may still suffer from heat or jostling in the truck. It’s best to move them in your own vehicle with care.

4. Valuables and Personal Documents

Keep jewelry, passports, cash, legal documents, and essential medications with you — not in the truck. These items are irreplaceable and safer in your control.

5. Weapons and Ammunition

Firearms and ammo should be transported according to legal regulations, not by your moving company. Discuss options with a licensed dealer if needed.

6. Pets and Live Animals

No animals should ever be placed in a moving truck. Move your pets in a secure, temperature-controlled vehicle with plenty of breaks and comfort.

Questions About What’s Allowed?
