How to Prepare Heavy Items for Moving

Disclose Heavy Items Before Booking
Send the item type, dimensions, estimated weight, photos, and access details. Heavy items should never be a surprise on moving day.
Measure the Entire Route
Measure the item, doors, hallways, stairs, elevators, gates, and turns at both locations. Confirm elevator weight limits and loading access.
Prepare Appliances
Disconnect and drain appliances in advance according to manufacturer instructions. Movers generally do not perform plumbing, gas, or electrical work.
Understand the Service Limits
iBox Moving does not move pianos or extremely heavy safes and does not provide rigging or liftgate service. An accepted item over 300 pounds has a $150 heavy-item fee.
Wait for Written Confirmation
An item is accepted only after review and confirmation in the estimate. If it is outside scope, hire an appropriately equipped specialty mover.
